RJ's first bath in the tub
RJ got his first real bath a couple of weeks ago. He did not enjoy it at first, as you can see, but he got used to it and really seemed to enjoy his dad washing him. He then got extremely upset with his mother when I tried to dry him off and put some lotion on him. No thank you! I also wanted to put a picture of him holding his neck up - what a strong boy! Please pardon the nudity... =)

6-week Dr. Appt. Update
Today we saw RJ's doc and he is doing great! He is now 9 pounds 2.3 ounces and 21 inches long! The doctor was impressed not only by his rapid growth, but also by his strength - he is holding his neck up completely and also pushes off of you with his feet, in order to move! When he was born the circumference of his noggin was not even on the chart of percentiles, now his head's measurement is in the 12th percentile at 14 inches. The doctor also mentioned that he is coming close to doubling his birth weight; something most babies don't reach until they are about 3-4 months. He seems to be making up for lost time! =) He is such a big boy already and we love him! Hope everyone is well...

Our trip to Brookings, Oregon
We hope everyone's New Year is going well, and that you had a good time ringing it in! We spent our last days of 2008 and first few days of 2009 in Brookings, Oregon, where Ryan's parents just bought a home! It is on a gorgeous piece of property on the coast of Oregon; full of redwood tries and a real cabin-like feel. It also has a three-hole golf course, which Ryan loves! We spent time on the beaches with the dogs and just getting a feel for the town. It is very peaceful and homey and we can't wait to visit again! Thanks for the good time, Cheryl and Ray!
