Christmas in Brookings, Oregon

I have written about Ryan's parents' place in Brookings, OR before, but just in case you don't remember it is GORGEOUS!  I love being there, it is so peaceful.  We left Sacramento (late of course) Thursday around noon and got to Brookings around 9pm...  It is a long drive, but it is beautiful and we always have good music to listen to, so it goes by pretty quickly overall...  I guess it's easy for me to say that since Ryan insists on driving the entire way, everywhere we go!  :)  Here are some pictures of our trip to Brookings for Christmas...

Savannah in her hat/scarf, so cute!

We went to this lights walk through a park, it was really cute!  They handed out 3D glasses to wear; it made the lights psychodelic - everyone had a great time!

Kaila in her 3D glasses, looking cool!

Kaila walking into a pole.  Ouch!  3D glasses are hard to see normal things through - I almost ran into some people once, too!

Kaila, RJ, Savannah, Santa, Cheyenne, and Mrs. Clause

A rabid light-rodent of some sort...wish you could see his red eyes better.

Cheyenne and Kaila being cute in this awesome light tunnel.

The fam.

He loves Papa.

Us being weird, as usual.  Good shot of the "fu-man-chu", though.

Savanney

Awwww

Ice skating...even RJ is doing an aerobesque! - spelling?

 Christmas morning was really fun!
Christian made this little stuffed animal guy for RJ, how sweet is that?

Opening his stocking with Grandma, AKA Papyah.

ooooh, a magic writer for the car!  Look how I make circles, Papyah!

Christian, Liz, Delaney and Rob opening stockings.

He opened this first - BIG MISTAKE!  I guess you live and learn with this whole Christmas morning thing, cause this should have been his LAST present; he did not want to open anything else after this - he would cry and cry when I would put it back in the bedroom after he would take it out again...  Finally I had to lock it in a closet, so he woud move on and open other gifts!  hahaha  This boy loves his disc golf!

"Nice shot!"  "OOOH PICKLES!"

Sesame Street shoes, he also got the cutest Groby shoes from Aunt Liz and Uncle Rob - can you tell Ryan and I love shoes and are passing this down to our son???

Yikes, but still love cause it's Christmas morning!  :)

Fun toys like Wood, Jesse and the horse that brays when you pull his tail!

Buzz and Woody sheets for my big-boy bed?  Yay!

What the heck happened here?  Seriously I forgot why he was "nakey boy" at this moment...  :)

Delaney Rose  :)

Playing disc golf again...

RJ and Papyah

Looking for whales, we definitely saw some, but better from the road, rather than the beach.  Still tons of fun!  (It really wasn't this dark, just my camera..)

Savannah and RJ - best buds!

Mama and her boy Ray Jude.

The best baby-sitter's an auntie could ask for.

Just hanging on the beach together.

Running around and being really happy!

Writing in the sand

Did I mention I love this place?

Writing more in the sand, so cute!

Therein concludes this Christmas in Oregon - can't wait to have more memories in this lovely town, with such a wonderful family!  Even the drive up makes me excited to go rafting and visit my friend Missy in Clear Lake sometime soon, I hope!  Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Randy's Birthday in SF

For our friend Randy's birthday we went to SF, got some great Thai food and then went bar-hopping.  Randy's sisters Rhonda and Ashley were there, along with our friend Mike and Maeghan and a couple of their friends, since they were also celebrating Maeghan's birthday.  We had a good time and are so happy to have Randy as our friend!

Our cat: Mr. Machine

So we adopted a cat about 3 months ago and his name is now Mr. Machine, or usually just "cat".  Sometimes his name also includes four-letter words, cause he has a love-hate relationship with every human in this house and a hate-hate relationship with every other animal in this house.  He can be extremely friendly and loving and then all of a sudden a monster biting and swatting!  He is an adult and has very weird habits:  he will sit at the window and when it sees birds outside it makes this weird sound in the back of it's throat and it's face twitches, and when it finds little stuffed animals like a stuffed snowman ornament I had, it thinks they are mice and takes it away into a dark corner and growls and swats at it and bites it until it apparently thinks it's "dead".  This cat's name being Mr. Machine is somewhat fitting to be honest.  :)  Here are some pictures of Mr. Machine's good day with RJ.

He runs around the cat in circles and the cat usually really does not like this...

Trusting the cat a little too much, in my opinion.

Wow, even kisses!  Too cute!

Just hanging together.

RJ really does like him.  :)

He's a very good looking cat.  I guess we'll keep him...
